October 31, 2025 I went to the shoe per store in Orangeville today - I was seeking a pair of dress shoes that would go with multiple outfits - yes I found a pair. It’s what happened when I went to pay for them that has me writing this letter to you. The shoes were 30% off of the retail price which had them at $111.99 - this quite honestly isn’t really a sale price considering the cost of living these days but I digress as I needed the shoes. The cashier starts to ring up my purchase and tells me the total then adds “can you provide me with an email address or a phone number “ I replied “no thank you “ the cashier then said “well then you will need to know that these are then final sale “ I replied “what do you mean “ the cashier said “well if you don’t give an email or a phone number we won’t allow you to return the shoes “ being somewhat shocked I paid the price and before leaving I addressed the cashier and said “shame on shoe per store for demanding I provide private information to be eligible to return an item to your store - I policy to be discriminatory and intrusive to my privacy and with the cost of living these days and the not so cheap price of your shoes I would think you wouldn’t want to alienate people due to not wishing to give private information “ To that the cashier said “I guess i can let someone know “ Well I’m letting you know that this is ridiculous intrusive policy to insist we provide private information in order to be “eligible “ to return items. And if you look at their receipts (which you don’t get unless you complete a transaction) they list an entire laundry list of what they will and won’t do but if you are a VIP ( which means you gave up your privacy ) you get special treatment to heck with anyone else ! Do better shoe per store !!

Staff to busy talking amongst themselves instead of helping customers not a hello, not a what can I help you with today?Dont waste your time just go to the Guelph location.

The salesperson was very helpful and had excellent product knowledge. She was cheerful, approachable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. I really appreciated her positive attitude and would love to buy from her again in the future.

Poor customer service, plenty of older sales people not doing much to help customers. They seemed annoyed when we asked for sizes. This place has a bad reputation for poor customer service.

***updated my rating after the manager called and offered her apologies and made steps to rectify. Original review: I was really happy with the pair of boots I bought today. The only thing is that there isn’t enough attendants for the number of shoppers so after 5 minutes of help I was left to fend for myself which I didn’t mind too much but then I was scolded by the attendant later for messing everything up when I hadn’t. She repeated several times that things had to go back where they belonged and was more focused on that than helping me. To top it off, I’m pregnant and was having a hard enough time as it was getting things myself but didn’t have much of a choice. At one point I even saw the attendant turn to the other workers and make a face as if I was problem for her when I had done nothing wrong. I had everything neatly organized, and was trying just buy pair of boots, which happened to be very expensive. I’m still not quite sure what her problem was. This left me feeling an inconvenience and not wanting to come back.

We have always purchased our shoes here because we need comfortable footwear. Today I stood behind a sales associate talking to another one. Janelle was her name. The other one told her I was behind her. She moved and went right on talking! Apparently customers are an inconvenience here now. I still bought my expensive sandals from the sweet red head, but I wasn't impressed.

I can honestly say that I have never had such a bad experience shoe shopping. Like I genuinely wanted to walk out the store without getting anything. I was there for probably 1.5 hours looking around and never was asked if I needed help. The girls two younger girls were very nice and answered my questions, if this review was based off my interaction with only them it would be a solid 5 stars. However, what I experienced from the older employees was terrible! While there I witnessed two older employees helping a single older lady, a man meticulously sizing a gentleman in his 40s but not once was I asked if I needed help. When I asked about shoe selection (to see if there was more options in the back as they only had like three options for Nike and all of them were 2-3 sizes too small) one of the older women completely ignored everything I was saying and had a conversation with herself. As a 24 year old I can honestly say that the women I spoke with treated me like a child asking where the chocolate isle is, she never directed me to similar shoes I might like or tried to show me the whole “these are the shoes you’re looking for but this is all we have” or even tried to be nice… Honestly, the shoe selection is extremely dated (think grandmother approved shoes) and as someone with years of customer service experience you would be better going anywhere else. I did bring up my concerns at the front cash to one of the younger employees and she did offer a quick apology and offered to help me find what I needed but at that point I was over it.
